Whether you have taken a gap year, travelled the world, studied at TAFE , studied at another university or been employed in the workforce, you are regarded as a mature age student if you are 20 years of age or over.
Do you qualify?
There are many different options for getting into Curtin. Unlike school leavers, your eligibility for admission is not solely reliant on school exam results. Previous education and life experience are also considered.
Please check out the different ways you may qualify to study. Even if you don't automatically qualify for university entry there are many alternative entry options.

Never studied at Curtin?
If you are an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident and you have not previously studied at Curtin, apply through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC).

TAFE students will be considered for entry and will be assigned a Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) for the following:
- you have completed a Diploma, Associate Diploma or Advanced Diploma course
- you have completed a Certificate IV course or an approved Advanced Certificate and have, in addition met the English competency requirement
You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if you have studied before.
