"Scoping Study on Procurement – Desert Australia" research into procurement needs for desert communities – funded by the Desert Knowledge Collaborative Research Centre.

The need to establish procurement policies and practices which suit the varying needs of desert communities while also meeting the typical procurement standards of transparency, probity, accountability and "value-for-money" is a significant challenge for public and private sector organisations.
This project will result in recommendations covering a range of procurement policies and practices which would help to meet these requirements, as well as meeting the needs and expectations of the desert communities involved.
"e-Management: Managing Transactional Procurement Systems" – funded by Curtin Business School.

The purpose of this project is to establish a set of contemporary principles for transactional procurement leading to e-Procurement implementation. The project maps the organisational and procurement issues to be addressed in the transfer of traditional procurement processes to an e-Procurement environment. The project outcomes will be available in mid 2008.
Australian Research Council Linkage Project Grant ($200,000)
This is a joint project between Curtin University, ADI Limited, Defence Materiel Organisation (Canberra), Total Metrics (Melbourne) and Praetorium. Murdoch and Edith Cowan Universities and Galorath Corporation (USA) are research partners. The project will attempt to break new ground in procurement costing by applying unified cost metrics throughout the procurement, development and project management phases. Funding of $200,000 over four years will be received from the Australian Research Council and the project has a total value of $1.38m when industry and university partner contributions are included. Longitudinal Study of the Impact of Introducing Green Procurement Requirements

This project commenced with the delivery of a conference paper outlining the delays in implementation of green procurement policies (GPP). The research is designed to track a number of GPPs at state and national level (on a case study basis) and to report on the experiences of each jurisdiction in terms of the actual implementation of GPP.
