International Research Study of Public Procurement
A 13–nation research study of Public Procurement practices and policies, development of international comparative procurement benchmarks and to enhance the body of knowledge in government procurement. The Chair has become part of the organisation of this major research project and its international meetings in the USA (2004) and France (2005), as well as being invited to be a co-editor of the major publications emerging from both 2004 and 2005 research meetings.
These opportunities place APPRG in one of the leading positions within the progress of major research aimed to assist the development of public procurement globally.
Furthermore, the Chair has just co-hosted the Procurement Edge Conference with Jim McGuire of the State Supply Board of South Australia. This two-day conference brought together leaders in public procurement from the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa and Australia. More details
Application of Efficiency Principles in Cross-Disciplinary Management Practice
Unfunded research undertaken by the Chair examining a range of efficiency principles and their application within a number of professions, including the emerging procurement profession.
Development of an Integrated Procurement Governance Model
The objectives of this project are to develop the parameters of a procurement governance model that provides guidance for policy and practice in procurement and creates an implementation plan for such models.
