Call for Papers: Special Issue 2008 “Japanese Economy”
We solicit papers that identify and analyse broad issues with relevance to the Japanese economy. After a long post-war period of strong economic growth, the Japanese economy appeared to go through a decade of economic stagnation followed by the recent recovery. This special issue focuses on articles to update the understanding of the Japanese economy. We welcome articles covering broad areas of this interesting economy.
Possible paper topics include, but are not limited to:
- Foreign Direct Investment in Japan
- Conditions of Japanese financial institutions
- Government lenders and fiscal policies
- Corporate sector innovation and productivity growth
- Labour market conditions and policies
- Government intervention policies
- Effects of bank loans and bank regulation policies
- Unique features of Japanese economy
- MITI policies in Japan
- Trade policy.
Papers should be submitted electronically to the APJEB at editor.apjeb@cbs.curtin.edu.au.
Authors should consult the APJEB’s webpage at www.business.curtin.edu.au/apjeb to conform to the format for electronic submission. All papers will be referred and the first review will be completed within 100 days of the receipt of the manuscript.
The deadline for submission is 30 September 2007. The special issue will be published in June 2008.
