Study online

Online learning is becoming an increasingly popular choice for students at the Graduate School of Business.  We recognise that students do not need to be physically present in order to be active and enthusiastic learners.  Online learning is an appealing option for students living in regional Australia, interstate or overseas, as well as those working under increasingly  fluid definitions of a 'working day'.  The GSB has always believed in creating flexible study experiences for our students; we believe that our ability to embrace new technologies and shifting cultural dynamics is one of our strengths. 

What is Online Learning?

Online, or e-Learning, is a division of the GSB which delivers selected units via CBS Online using software that enables online interaction with your lecturer and fellow students.

This method of unit delivery allows you to complete your program online at a time and place convenient to you. Working within a trimester system, a typical week online can include completing textbook readings, discussions with classmates and a variety of assessable activities (eg. a case study or team discussion). 

The Online MBA

The Online MBA was recently ranked 4th in the world and 1st in Australia in a survey conducted by the Economic Intelligence Unit.

Ranked 4th worldwide by the Economic Intelligence Unit (publishers of The Economist magazine), the Graduate School of Business' online MBA program allows you to design a study plan that fits your learning style and schedule.  In your online journey, you'll 'meet' your lecturers and fellow students in a virtual environment for the majority of your course. This journey culminates in meeting them face-to-face for the mandatory two-week intensive residential capstone unit, Business Strategy and International Business 660, Students have enjoyed this opportunity to meet and network with their study colleagues and have cited this residential as a positive experience.   The same EIU survey returned a ranking of 1st globally for  the 'quality of its students' -  this unit provides the opportunity to network with your fellow high-quality students.

Other options for Online Learning

Online learning can be combined with other delivery modes such as intensive and face-to-face units, resulting in your ability to earn  a highly ranked graduate-level qualification within one year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time).  As demand grows, more and more units are being made available in online mode.  Please check current timetables for availabilties when planning your course of study. Currently the following courses can be completed if not fully, then partially, online.

  • Graduate Certificate in Business (GCB)
  • Graduate Diploma in Business (GDB)
  • Master of Business Administration* (MBA)
  • Selected units of the Master of Leadership and Management (MLM)

* Please note: The MBA currently has a two-week capstone unit residential in Perth that is a requirement for completion
