What happens now?

Enrolments for online units close 10 days before the start of trimester (Friday two weeks before each Trimester starts).
During the first half of the week prior to the start of trimester, you will receive an email to your Oasis address, and your private email address (as registered on your enrolment form) advising that access to your unit/s is now available, further information on your username and password, initial online tasks and contact details for your online tutor.
To avoid delay in notifying you of your access, it is essential that your current private email address is recorded correctly in your Curtin student record. If you change your email address, it is your responsibility to update the information through Oasis portal. After the initial email has been sent, all further correspondence will be sent to your Oasis student email. If you are not in the habit of using Oasis, you do have the option of redirecting your email from Oasis to your private email account. For more information on Oasis, see below.
If you have enrolled before the closing date and have not received an email by the start of trimester, please go to CBS Online and lodge a Blackboard help form.
Unit outlines and timetables are available on the GSB website under unit information before trimester starts (look under unit availability). You can view information on unit requirements including assignments, required textbooks and assessment due dates prior to receiving access to their e-Learning unit.

Textbook purchase

You should consult the unit outline in advance to determine what textbooks or materials are needed for your unit(s). Every effort has been made to have material required for units in stock at the Curtin University Bookshop. (find information on how to purchase textbooks online, in person or via telephone).

Once you are enrolled in a unit, you can determine your up-to-date textbook requirements from the bookshop website, even if the unit outline has not yet been published.

Students can view information on unit requirements including assignments, required textbooks and assessment due dates prior to receiving access to their online unit.

Student portal - Oasis

OASIS (Online Access to Student Information Services) is Curtin's web portal for delivering secure and personalised information and online services to all Curtin students. This includes a student email account and other administrative services such as exam results and library access. All emails related to your online unit will be sent to your Oasis email account.

It is your responsibility to access Oasis and set up your account to read or redirect your Curtin emails.

Oasis has the facility to set up forwarding of emails to multiple email addresses
To set up forwarding from your OASIS email account, choose "Options" and then "Settings", and mail forwarding is at the bottom of that page. All forwarded messages will still be retained within Oasis, so you will need to access Oasis periodically to clear your inbox to ensure you can continue to receive emails.

Oasis has its own online help facility, including the option to lodge an OASIS support request. GSB does not provide support for Oasis.
